FHE

Tonight we didn't have anything in particular planned for our FHE but we ended up having a great time together. We decided to turn Jadon's homework assignment into a family activity. He had to make a spanish food for his spanish class. He chose churros. While he and I were making them, Dale put some legos together with Jake and Kyson. Kierra and Jaxon just hung out and watched. Katie played nearby with her little toys. After the churros were done, we all had a great time eating them. They were super yummy! While we were eating, we listened to music and danced. We didn't have lesson, like we should have, but we had some valuable family bonding time. It was great!

I love organized things!!!

I've been wanting to organize our cold storage for a long time. I finally got to do it today. I've been trying to build up our food storage and every time I buy something I just put it on the shelves and told myself I would organize it later.
I finally got all my cans in the right section with the right labels with them.
I organized all the jars and made labels for them. I also organized everything into categories like pastas, jams, fruits etc...
This is my favorite. I got some bins for all the puddings, jellos and cake mixes so they aren't just scattered all over the shelf. It was such a good feeling to look in the room and see everything so neat and tidy. Now I better not hear one of my kids say they can't find something when I send them down to get it!

Super mom's workout group

For the last couple of weeks I have been going to our church on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to exercise with the Super mom's workout group. Our friend, Amy, use to be a personal trainer for Gold's Gym and recently quit her job. She has missed training/torturing people so she has been nice enough to be our new trainer. It has been awesome! She is so great to spend so much time thinking of different work outs. I absolutely love going! Today was our biggest group. There were 24 people there. There was no school, so some of us brought our daughters. Here we are waiting to start a 25 station workout. We do 50 seconds of workout/10 seconds of rest.
It is such a great way to exercise! Each station has a different exercise. We alternate between cardio and strength training and go around the 25 stations twice. It kicked out butts!
Here's me and Kierra. She was jump roping so she came out kind of blury.
Here's our totally awesome trainer, Amy, and her daughter. I am so glad that she does this with us each week. Hopefully someday I will look like her!

My funny valentine's

Happy Valentine's Day. A couple of weeks ago I decided that I wanted to make a special Valentine's dinner for my family. I decided that I wanted to make homemade rolls but couldn't decide what to have with it. I wanted to have something that everyone loves. I finally decided to get KFC chicken for them because they all love it but we never have it. I made garlic mashed potatoes and jello with it (and of coarse, the rolls). My favorite part was decorating the table for Valentine's and giving everyone a cup of Valentine's candy. I locked them out of the house while I decorated the table. I let them in when dinner was ready and they were all very excited! They all told me thank you and that this was the best dinner ever. It was so much fun! I just hope they all know how much I love them. I am so lucky to have my family. They mean the world to me and everything I do is for them!

My little princesses

Kierra and Katie went to their cousin, Yoel's, birthday party today. It was a princess party. All the girls came in their princess dresses. They had a princess come to the party who painted the girl's faces. She was amazing! She painted their faces really quickly. All the girls looked so pretty.

Katie loved her butterfly face. She kept looking at herself in the mirror. Kierra let Katie pick out what picture she was going to have on her face. Katie wanted Kierra to have a butterfly, just like her!

The cousins had a such a great time together at the party. After the party they all went out to dinner and it was fun to see all the people look at their pretty faces.

Happy Birthday Jake!

Yesterday was Jake's 9th birthday. We started out his day by making chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. At school he got to do show-n-teach. He was in charge of coming up with a craft and teaching it to the kids in his class. It was too hectic for me to take any pictures but he made a cute butterfly out of fishy crackers and grapes.
After school we went to Trafalga. Jake played laser tag 3 times in a row and loved it. After that we went out to dinner. The birthday kid always gets to pick the place we go. He picked McDonalds. I don't know if he always picks McDonalds because of the food or because he wants to play the video games there.

We had a great time there! We were the only ones in the play place so the kids just played and goofed off together.
That night Jake, Kyson and Katie had a sleepover in Kierra's bed. All 4 of them slept in her bed and watched a movie in her room.
Tonight we went out to dinner at Golden Corral to celebrate my mom's birthday. Jake is lucky to share his birthday with such a wonderful person! I'm so glad that Jake is in our family! He is a really sweet kid. He is super smart! He loves computers and video games. He has really enjoyed being in scouts. He likes a schedule. He always reminds me when it is scout day or basketball practice or whatever he has going on that day. He likes to look at the calendar on our fridge while he eats breakfast so he knows what's going on that day. He always does his homework right when he gets home from school. He spends most of his time playing with Kyson.
The other day he asked me what his best physical feature was. I told him it was his dimples for sure. I love them! He has a great smile! Happy Birthday Jake!

Homemade bread!

A while ago I posted something about learning how to make bread. It was probably over a year ago. Unfortunately, I didn't do anything with it...until yesterday. My friend, Suzy, made a new year's resolution to make homemade bread once a month. Luckily, for me, she invited me to do it with her. We ground our wheat into flour and followed our friends yummy recipe and made some fantasic tasting bread. I was so excited and my family loved it!
