First day of school

I can't believe that it took me so long to post about the first day of school. It's been a crazy 3 days and I didn't have two minutes to sit and write this post until now. This is an exciting year for our family. Kierra is in 7th grade and going to middle school with Jadon. She has been very excited and seems to like her teachers and classes.
Jadon is in 9th grade which, I guess, is considered being in highschool. That makes no sense to me. If they consider it highschool, then put them at the highschool. He is taking 3 honors classes this year so he is going to be really busy.
Kierra waiting for the bus. Jadon didn't get in the picture since I took one of him just like this when he was in 7th grade. I love that Kierra didn't care one bit that I went to the bus stop with her.
Later that morning, Jaxon and Jake were ready to go to school about an hour early. Kyson was ready to go to but he was only going to meet the teacher. His first day was the next day. We have a huge change for the boys this year. They are going to a new elementary and riding the bus. They have been so excited to start at their new school.
Mitchel, our other son, Jaxon and Jake waiting for the bus.
Kyson and Taeya were lucky enough to get in the same class this year. They went to meet the teacher at the same time and we all think their new teacher, Mrs. Brown, is going to be great! The new school is really nice. My favorite part about it is the big clock and the bell. You can't see the bell in the picture but there is a big old fashioned school bell over the clock. It looks so cool. I am excited for the kids to be back in school so that our family can get back into a routine. After 3 days of following the bus to school and making sure everyone gets where they are suppose to be, I feel confident that the kids know what they are doing and are well on their way to a great school year!

Thanksgiving Point

Tuesday my Dad took some of us to Thanksgiving Point. The kids had a great time together! Kyson had a little map that had all the things they could do listed with numbers on them. He wanted to do everything in order and he kept the map in his hands the whole time. They loved going through the mazes, rolling down the grassy hills, making a puppet show and especially playing in the Noah's Ark water area. After Thanksgiving Point, we went to McDonald's for lunch. I had a great time with my 3 youngest kids. Thanks for the invite Dad!

Kyson's cut at the cabin

So we are staying at the cabin one last time before school starts. Late last night we were just hanging out and the kids were watching a movie in the toy room. All of a sudden, I heard Kyson crying and he came in with blood all over his hand and forehead. At the time, he didn't know he was bleeding. Once he took his hand away from his forehead, and saw the blood, he started screaming. We cleaned it up and saw the cut. I had the hardest time trying to decide whether to take him in for stictches or not. It stopped bleeding very quickly which made me think it wasn't that deep. Amy had some butterfly bandages so we tried to close the cut up and put the bandage on it. I just prayed I was making the right decision by not taking him to the doctor. Kyson is a worrier. After we got the bandage on and he was sitting on the couch, he said he felt like he was going to throw up. He had a very worried look on his face. I called Dale and was telling him about it. Kyson looked at me and said "Am I going to die?" My heart broke. I reassured him that he was going to be fine. He fell asleep on the couch. After everything calmed down we found out that he was standing on a little stool to reach something and fell. His forehead landed on the corner of a toy house. When he woke up in the morning, he wanted to take the bandaid off because there was some blood around the outside of it. We took it off and cleaned up the blood. I asked him if he wanted to look at it. He said yes. He stood in front of the mirror and just stared. I think it looked a lot worse than he was expecting. He said "I am going to throw up". I hurried and moved him to the toilet. Amy, Lisa, Jared and I were all standing there with him. That didn't bother him one bit. He just pulled his pants down and went to the bathroom. After he went to the bathroom, he threw up. While we were putting another butterfly bandage on his cut, Amy said "I just hope it doesn't get infected". Kyson looked at me and said "I don't want to get dejected". He's so cute! Throughout the day he said things like "I wish I could go back in time and then I wouldn't have stood on that stool." and "I don't want to have a scar forever". He kept asking me if anyone would be able to see it and how long he was going to have to wear his bandage. He's our little worrier. I just hope he doesn't blame me for his little scar for the rest of his life!

16 years!

Yesterday we celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. In the morning, when Kyson saw his Daddy, he said "Happy Birthday Daddy!" Dale told them it was our family's birthday. It was the anniversary of the day we started our family. I really liked that! To celebrate our anniversary, we rode the bus to Wendover with some friends. We went to a really good buffet and then went to see the comedian, Bill Engvall. It was funny. I had a great time laughing the night away. I also loved spending the night with my best friend. I am so thankful to have married such a wonderful man. He has always treated me so well. He has always made me feel beautiful. He always makes me laugh. I feel blessed to be married to someone that I get along so well with. I love that I can always count on him to help me with whatever I can't do. He is a wonderful father who loves his children very much. I love how he always talks to them and is such a big part of their life. I am grateful that he has made it possible for me to stay home with my kids. I am excited for, and look forward to, the many years that we will be able to be together!

camping...again!

Last week we went camping for 4 days at Washington lake in the Uintahs. Even though there were millions of mosquitos, we had a good time. We went on a few hikes, did some fishing and spent some time on the lake. Washington lake is a beautiful place and it was good to be back (we haven't been there in 3 years) I just wanted to post some of my favorite pictures from the trip.
The last night there, we had a cool rainstorm. After it was over, there was a beautiful rainbow that went across the whole sky.I probably have pictures of all my kids asleep on their dad in the boat. I love it!
We put Kyson's swimming suit on Katie's head on our hike because she was getting eaten alive by mosquitos. She ended up with 27 mosquito bites. Poor girl!
I thought this was a very noble picture of Jenny. She loves camping, especially going on hikes!
The reason I love this picture is because Jaxon was helping Jake get across the rocks at rock lake. They don't get along most of the time so when they do, it means a lot to me.
Katie loved hiking! She wanted to do it all by herself whenever we would let her. She liked to tell her Daddy the right way to go.
Jadon and his dog! Most of the hike, Jenny was with Jadon. It's fun for Jadon to finally have a dog to take camping with him.
Katie running through the flowers.
Kamryn, Jared and Kyson attempting to swim at rock lake. It was way too cold to get all the way in!
Jadon and Taylor headed over to where they were going to jump in at Rock Lake. The snow on the mountain gives you a good idea of how cold the water was. Brrrrrrrr!
Our family at Provo river falls. There is some pretty amazing waterfalls there!
Jadon took this at Provo River Falls. I'm glad we had the oppurtunity to use our trailer so much this summer but it has been cleaned and packed away until next summer!
