7 months old

Katie is 7 months old today. Her accomplishment for 7 months is successfully growing 2 little teeth. She looks so cute and wasn't even very fussy while they were breaking through. Having teeth makes it so much easier for her to eat and she LOVES to eat. When we are having dinner she sits in her highchair and begs for food the whole time. She continues to be a very happy baby. My favorite thing to do with her is get her up from her nap. I will open the door and, before she can see me, I say "Where's my baby?" and she starts flapping her arms and kicking her feet. When she sees me, she gives me a huge smile. She does this ever time I get her up, even in the middle of the night. Yes, she's still getting up once a night to eat. I just can't cut her off yet. It's the only time I get to cuddle with her.

Little Mother

This morning I must have been really tired because instead of pushing snooze on my alarm, I turnd it off. Jadon came in and woke me up at 7:30. When I came into the kitchen, Jadon, Jaxon and Kierra were all dressed. Kierra had gotten up and then woke up the boys. She reminded them that it was spirit day and told them to wear their Hayden Peak shirts. She also got their shoes ready for them and lined them up by the door. If Jadon didn't wake me up, she was going to make their breakfast for them too. I told her I'm going to sleep in on Fridays and let her play mom. She was all over that idea. I was very impressed with her!

Last fieldtrip!

On Monday Jadon had his last fieldtrip. He went to a Mexican restaurant and then to the
West Jordan park. I met his class at the park. When I got there, he was playing baseball with a bunch of boys from his class. After that they had lunch. It was fun to watch him have fun with his friends. I can't believe that this is the last fieldtrip he will go on. I still remember his first fieldtrip in Kindergarten and it seems like yesterday. He's counting the days to be done with Elementary school and I'm not! I don't want to let him go into the big bad world of middle school. I am so proud of him and the person that he is. He has become so responsible with his school work and is a great student. I am so thankful to have such a great kid!

Happy Father's Day!

I wanted to do a little tribute to my husband on this Father's Day. Dale is a great father who loves his kids with all his heart. Before we got married, I don't think he ever dreamed he would have so many children. I love that he agreed to be all these kids "Daddy"! I love the support that he gives them in everything they do. He is fortunate enough to be able to attend all their games, school events, performances etc... I love how much they love him. They all get excited to see him. I love it when I hear them say "Hi Daddy". I love how he wants the very best for every single one of them. He is so loving with them and hugs and kisses them all the time. I am very blessed to be married to someone that takes such good care of his family and loves us so much. I love you Dale!

I love Brighton!

I took Jake, Kyson and Katie to our cabin for the day today. Part of my family was there. My parents tried to get everyone together at the cabin before Paul and Amy move but we couldn't work it into our schedule this time. I didn't have anything going on today so we spent the day there. Jake and Kyson had fun playing with their cousins and we took a nice walk around Silver Lake. I love going to my cabin. It's especially pretty in the canyon right now because of the unusual amount of rain that we've had. Jake and Kyson wanted me to take a picture of the Mickey Mouse on the mountain. It's really little in the picture but they could see it so they were happy.

My little "All Star"

So it looks like we get to go to some more baseball games this summer. We found out last night that Jaxon made the All Stars team for the 7 and 8 year olds. He is super excited but is very concerned about the games interfering with Bear Lake. We have mixed feelings about him being on an All Star team but he is so excited. At least we'll finally get to watch a baseball game in the sun!

First stitches

Yesterday we had our first trip to the hospital for stitches. It's hard to believe that with 6 kids we haven't had stitches yet. So, Jadon was helping in the yard and wanted to try trimming the bushes with the electric trimmer. He hadn't been doing it very long and we heard him say "I just cut my fingers!" He started going in the house to wash them off and they were bleeding pretty bad. I DO NOT like seeing blood on my kids!!! Once we got the bleeding to stop, we were trying to decide if he needed stitches. We decided we needed to at least take him in for a tetinus shot since he cut them with dirty metal. We went to an instacare and waited for an hour and a half before we saw the doctor. The doctor said the fingers needed to be stitched. Jadon was pretty brave but once he heard he needed stitches he got pretty nervous. The worst part was the numbing shots. Once it was all over, he said it wasn't that bad. He was just glad that baseball is over because he can't play sports for a couple of weeks. Because they were so busy, they forgot to give Jadon the tetnus shot. They called us that night to tell us he needed to come back to get it. Jadon got nervous all over again. The anticipation of the unknown is way worse than the actual event. During the whole ordeal he said it was the worst day of his life.

Shopping just got easier

Now that Katie can sit up, shopping is so much easier! No more lugging her around on my arm in the car seat. She is 20 pounds now so I moved her to a regular car seat. She is so cute sitting there in the cart holding on to the little bar in front of her. She smiles at everone that looks at her. I think she likes being a big girl now.
