Oh, how I love shopping for baby girls!!!

I went shopping with Kierra and Lisa today for our baby girl. It was so much fun. It has been so long since I got to buy baby girl things. They are soooooooooo fun to buy. I could spend a ton of money. I only bought a few things because I know that she will grow so fast that she'll outgrow everything before she can even wear it. There is a lot of pink and brown out there and I love it!

One of my favorite things

Today I got to do one of my favorite things, get my hair done. I love my kids to play with my hair but they never do it long enough. My friend, Laura, does such a good job with my hair. It is so relaxing, I felt like taking a nap after. The best part about today was that we got to visit while we listened to church music. She even fed me homemade granola and my favorite, carrot cake. It was such an enjoyable morning. Thanks Laura! And thanks to Amy for taking her kids so she could enjoy some peace and quiet!

A birthday tribute to Jadon

Today is Jadon's birthday and the only time that I will see him is when I dropped him off for Scout camp at 7:30 a.m. We woke up a little late and were hurrying to get there on time. Jadon can't stand to be late to anything. We made it there at 7:30 on the dot. We were in such a hurry that I forgot to tell him Happy Birthday so I got the cell # of the guy that was driving and called him so I could talk to Jadon and tell him Happy Birthday. I don't know if it mattered to Jadon but I knew I would have a better day now. I am so thankful for Jadon. Ever since he was little, he has always wanted to do the right thing. He is always a great helper to me. Whenever we go to the cabin, camping, on a trip or anything that requires a lot of work, he is always there helping me. He always likes to keep busy. When we went to Bear Lake last week, he got up at 6:00 because he was so excited to go. I wasn't up yet so he decided to vaccum out the van.
Jadon is a hard, dedicated worker. His 5th grade teacher was very impressed with how hard he worked and how responsible he was with his work. He takes care of our lawn by himself and has recently started mowing our neighbors lawn for money. He is 110% dedicated to baseball. He always wants to be early to practices and games and he always has his head in the game. At almost every game, when the team is in the dugout, you will find him leaning against the corner of the dugout watching the game. He played 1st base this year and did a great job!
Jadon recently graduated from cub scouts to boy scouts and finished everything he needed to do. He got his arrow of light several months before he left cub scouts, which is kind of rare in our troop. He has always loved scouts! He loves the outdoors. He can't wait to go camping every summer and absolutely loved being out on the water at Bear Lake. I've told people before, that he was born in the wrong century. He would have made a terrific pioneer!
Jadon loves the superheros, just like his Dad does. I think Jadon's greatest hero is his Dad. He loves to do anything with him. Anytime Dale is going anywhere, besides work, Jadon wants to go. Ever since he was very little, he has loved to help Dale with the car. He loves to ride the motorcycle with him. Dale will be spending the night with Jadon at scout camp tonight and I think that is one of the greatest birthday presents Dale could give him.
I can't believe that Jadon is already 11. How time flies! I hope he realizes how much I love and appreciate him and I hope he has the best birthday ever!

Fun trip to Bear Lake

We just spent 3 wonderful days in Bear Lake with Some of my mom's family. We had a great time. I couldn't believe how long the kids just played in the sand and water. They never got tired of it. I had to make them go back to the cabins every day. Dale rented two waver runners and everyone had a good time on those. We brought our trailer and set it up in between the two cabins. One of my favorite things about it was sleeping outside and listening to the stream and looking at the stars. This is the only picture that was taken with my camera. My aunt Sandy took a ton of pictures with her camera so I didn't even bother getting mine out. When we were getting ready to leave, the moon was really pretty so I decided to get a family picture. You can't see the moon in the picture but at least we have a family picture from Bear Lake.

We're half way there!

My sister, Lisa, told me that I should take pictures of myself when I'm pregnant. I did it with Jadon but only because I was pregnant with him at the same time Lisa was pregnant with Taylor. I decided that since this is the last time I will be pregnant, I would do it. So here I am at 20 weeks. I am just going in to the best time of the pregnancy. I'm not sick very often anymore, no more allergies and not too fat yet. I haven't felt her move yet but it should be soon. I'm so relieved that I am in the best part of the pregnancy when it's so hot. We're so excited to have a little girl again!

It's NOT a boy!

Well, we had our ultra sound today and like the title of this post says...it's NOT a boy!!! The utlraound technician asked us if we wanted to know the sex of the baby. Dale said "only if it's a girl". She looked around for a few minutes and said "oh, it's for sure a girl." I told her that was very strange to hear. I'm so use to them telling me it's a boy. When we got home to tell the kids we wanted to trick them. We bought a pink stuffed elephant but put it in a blue bag. Everyone asked us if it was a boy or girl as soon as we walked in the door. I told them to look at the bag. Then they said "Oh, it's a boy". I asked Kierra if she was Ok having 5 brothers. She didn't answer me, she just stared at me. So I asked her again. She still didn't answer so I showed her what was in the bag. As soon as she saw the pink she said "I'm having a sister!" It was cute to see how excited she was. She wanted to leave immediately to tell her friends. It's very strange to think we'll have a baby girl in our home again. It's been over 9 years since that has happened. We're all pretty excited but now we have the stress of finding a name. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. It has to start with a K and go with the middle name "Emma".

Happy 4th of July!

We were at the cabin for the 4th of July this year. It is a tradition for our family to go to the 4th of July breakfast at Brighton and then be in the parade after breakfast. We got there early this year so we didn't have to stand in much of a line. After breakfast, we went back to the cabin to decorate bikes and Granddad's truck for the parade. When we got back to the ski resort for the parade, we noticed that there weren't the usual amount of cars and trucks lining up for the parade. We found out from someone that it was in the paper that there wasn't going to be a parade this year due to no parade permit. That was a little heartbreaking for us since we have been doing the parade for as long as I can remember. We decided to have an unofficial parade and everyone that showed up did our own little parade. There was still tons of people there to watch so I think this no permit thing won't last. The kids love riding in the back of the truck and throwing candy to the people watching the parade. After the parade it is over we like to go back to the cabin and visit with whatever family shows up. That night we went to the Bees game. Jaxon's baseball team got to go out on the field with the players and go on a tour of the dugout and the players clubhouse. We had a great time! What an awesome way to celebrate the 4th. What's more american than a baseball game with fireworks after?

A wonderful weekend of scrapbooking!

For Mother's Day and my Birthday, Dale gave me a weekend of scrapbooking at my cabin by myself (well with Lisa). I've done this for several years and I love it. It's a perfect way to get a lot of pages done. When we got there we unpacked all our stuff and the cabin seriously looked like a scrapbook store. We had little stations set up. The counter (where we usually eat) had all the paper on it. The big eating table was used for our computers, printers and my cricut machine. Then we set up a table to work at. Oh, and we had a card table for all of our embelishments. We had a great time and we are both now in the scrapbooking mood. I got 46 pages done. I would have liked to do more. I got a lot done on Kyson and Jake's books. I was feeling bad that they didn't have very much in their books. It was worth it when I came home and showed Kyson his book. He loved it. I also came home to a clean house. Thanks Dale!
