He's not a child anymore!

I feel like Jadon grew up overnight. Yesterday Dale and I went to his maturation program with him. It was an interesting program. I thought the guy told the boys what they needed to know but because of the poor sound system at the school and how fast he went threw the material, most of it went right over those 5th grade boys' heads. The boys were hearing all sorts of words that had to do with their bodies but really didn't know what he was talking about. The good thing about it was that it opened all the doors we needed to talk to him about all this fun stuff. That night while I was at Rook club, Dale had a refresher course with Jadon. He told him EVERYTHING about what will happen to him when he starts to change into a man and all about sex and even what happens to women at that time of the month. I was so glad that they have the kind of relationship where Jadon didn't feel embarassed hearing this stuff. By the time I got home that night, everyone was in bed. Dale didn't tell me about this talk until after Jadon had left for school. When Jadon came home that day, I looked at him in such a different way. I know it sounds weird, but knowing that he knows all this adult stuff made me think of him as such an older kid. It made me sad and excited that he's growing up.

Daddy's Little Princess

There are times in my life that I love having a girl. Copper Hills Highschool had a Daddy Daughter dance tonight that Dale took Kierra too. It was so much fun getting her ready for the dance. Luckily, I had already gotten her Easter dress so she was able to wear that. I actually found a tie for Dale that matched perfectly. Things that match perfectly are one of my favorite things. Dale got her a coursage that she loved, except for the itchy bracelet thing that it was attached too. It made me so excited for the time that she will be so excited to go to the school dances and how much fun we will have together getting ready!

A fun day at the mall

Dale needed a few things from the mall so I decided to take Jake and Kyson and spend some time together there. We had so much fun! After we got our shopping done, we got some lunch from the food court and got our pictures taken in one of those photo booths. The kids thought that was great fun and wanted to do it over and over. At 3.oo a piece, We only did it once. After the pictures, I let the kids play on the motorized cars. I really wish the mall would get rid of those things because I refuse to put my money in them and they are no fun to just sit on. Then we threw our pennies in what Kyson called a really cool big bathtub. What a fun day!

It's finally done!

Today I finally finished my scrapbook of our wonderful trip to Disney World from April 2007. I finished most of it at the cabin in May of last year, shortly after we got home. There were a few pages that I didn't get done and I finally got a chance to finish them. It was fun to use my new cricut machine that my husband gave me for Christmas. It definitely has gotten me in the mood to scrapbook again!

My baby's in a big boy bed!

I can't believe my little baby is all grown up and is in what he calls a "get out bed". Tonight is the first night that Jake and Kyson slept in their bunkbeds. Jake was a little nervous to sleep up top but went right to sleep. Kyson took advantage of the get out bed and was in the front room within 5 minutes of being put down. Luckily he only came out once and then went to sleep. They love their new room.

It's like a new house!

For Christmas, Dale and I gave each other new flooring for our upstairs. We just got it all installed last week. Everything is done and all the things are put back in their places and we LOVE it! It seems like we just moved into a new house. I love the feel of new soft carpet under my feet.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Tonight Dale and I celebrated our Valentine's Day. We went out to dinner at Iggy's and then went to see the movie "The Bucket List". Because of the snowstorm, nobody was out. When we pulled into Jordan Landing the parking lot was practically empty. Up until the last few minutes before the movies started, we were the only ones in the theatre. Then only one more couple came in. It was nice. What a great movie! Bring some tissues though. I love going on dates with my husband and am so grateful for him!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Today was Jake's 5th Birthday. Since we are getting new carpet tomorrow, Dale told the kids they could draw on the old yucky carpet. In the morning Kierra and Jaxon made a birthday card for Jake on the carpet. Then they surprised him and brought him in and sang Happy Birthday to him. He was so excited.

The Most Snow Ever!!!

Today me and my kids got home from a little trip to the cabin. We stayed there for 4 days while we were getting new tile in our kitchen. Yay! The first day, our friends, the Bailey's, came up with us. When we got there, we could not believe how much snow was there. I honestly don't think I've seen that much snow up there EVER! You could barely see the cabin from the road. It took us about an hour to shovel a path and get our stuff into the cabin. We had a great time together, playing in the snow, watching videos and trying to build a fire. Once we got the fire started, it lasted all night. The next day Lisa and her twins came up. We pretty much did the same thing. That's what I love so much about the cabin. It's the only place that I can go and actually relax. I can sit around and not feel guilty because there is nothing else that I need to be doing. Dale came up and spent the last night with us and brought Kamry and Kayla. They all spent the night watching Batman while I finished a book that I was reading. It was nice. The only thing that was horrible about our trip was having to deal with a dead mouse that I found. I tried to pay my kids $7.00 to pick it up but none of them would do it. I finally had to be brave and do it. I screamed the whole time. I know, I'm a baby. The best part about our trip was coming home to a beautiful newly tiled floor. I love it!

Me: Oh, I'm 35

There is nothing, that I have experienced so far, that has made me feel more like a horrible mother than getting my 3 year olds teeth fixed! Ever since he could drink from a sippy cup, Kyson has loved Orange juice. It's so hard not to give him something he wants so much. Anyway, his top two front teeth have nice little holes at the top of them from sipping on the sippy cup and we had to have caps put on them. The appointment was at 11:00 am and he couldn't eat or drink after midnight the night before. That made for a rough morning! He was so sad that he couldn't have any orange juice and anything that anyone did or said set him into a crying episode. The first picture is of him sulking by the couch.
By the time we got to the dentist, he was happy because our dentist has the most wonderful office and he had plenty to do to keep him distracted. The anasteasiologist (sp?) came into the lobby to give him the shot that put him to sleep. I held him on my lap while they distracted him by letting him pick out a prize...then they stabbed him in the arm! I didn't like this method. It's like...here, have a toy. Pshye...it's really a needle in the arm! He would have done better being prepared. Oh well. So the dentist said he'll get sleepy in just a minute. They weren't kidding! about 30 seconds later he started to tip over and the dentist said "He's going, don't let him fall off your lap." Kyson kept staring at me like he didn't know who I was. Then the dentist took him back and left us in the lobby to listen to that horrible drilling noise. More guilt! After they were done, he never really woke up all the way before we took him home. He just moaned and made funny noises.
He stayed asleep for about 2 hours then woke up crying and asking for OJ. He had 2 glasses and downed them. Then he went in and out of sleep for another hour. He kept feeling his new teeth with his tongue and said something is in my mouth. I explained that they were his new teeth. He said "I don't love them!"
After about 2 more hours he got off the couch and had a banana and some noodles and actually smiled. Now he's back to his happy cute little self with bright white teeth that look like chiclets!
